Thinking...

Hello.

This is not an obsession, just a drawing I did today. It's about mermaids... Nothing else to say. :)

Faces.

Holla.

I'm not sure what I should categorize this "obsession" as because it is not a movie or a book or something like that. Today (and for a few years now) my obsession is drawing fake, illustrated portraits. I really enjoy finding new ways to make "a person". A lot of illustrators have a very specific style when drawing a person and I love to look at how each person treats the facial features. My sketchbook and walls are littered with different attempts at creating a face. I suppose it is a little creepy to have all of these fake portraits hanging from my walls, but I don't really mind. I like to think they are relatives or friends. It's kind of like when people would carry around little portraits or cameos to remember their loved ones by. I find that so much more appealing then carrying around a photograph. Anyways, I love drawing and painting faces.

I'm not sure what I was thinking when I added the captions because it was late at night.

A Collection

Hell-ooo.

As I have said before, I have a lot of love for t-shirts. As a result of this I have quite a few t-shirts. I decided to take pictures of them instead of drawing them because I am lazy and I have a new camera that I don't really know how to use.

Yes, they are mostly band shirts... :)

That's all folks.

T-Shirt list:

  • Raccoon Shirt - thrift store
  • Bastille Band Shirt - concert
  • Thor Shirt - HMV
  • Jake Bugg Shirt - concert
  • Skeleton Shirt - painted for a halloween costume
  • Cat Amigos Shirt - Winners
  • Brooklyn Shirt - thrift store
  • Alt-J - concert

Doctor Who?

I'm back!

After a lovely, freezing holiday in my home town of Thunder Bay I am back with an internet connection and a new obsession. It is a little TV show known as Doctor Who. Perhaps you've heard of it? I decided to watch it finally because I was tired of perusing the "Geek" section on pinterest and not understanding the references. Also, I love Sherlock and it seemed that there was A LOT of cross over between the two fandoms. I don't know why I waited so long. I should have watched it sooner because it's great! I'm currently on season three, but I don't think I will be there for very long. I'm a little afraid to continue because I know that season 4 is emotionally traumatizing. Speaking of emotionally traumatizing... A few other news worthy things that are going on in my life are the third and final episode of Sherlock series three is going to be on tomorrow (I am not prepared) and I am also going to a university run Yule Ball. Wow. I'm really turning into a geek.

This is a page from my sketchbook that I drew while watching Doctor Who.

Au Revoir!
